The combined bread and wine tasting experience at Weinkeller Am Goldenen Wagen includes the tasting of 5 different Saxon wines and special types of bread from ELIASBOULANGER.

This Mediterranean bakery, now based in Coswig near Dresden, has evolved since 1932 from a normal bakery into an expert in cereals. Today, they know which types of grain are more digestible and therefore more suitable for us humans and in which regions of Europe they grow well naturally. This know-how helps in the production of "loaves of bread with a designation of origin". The flour can be traced back to the grain farmer's field via the mill.

Thanks to this experience, you will learn lots of interesting facts about bread, the history of bread culture, and the different types of grain. You will get a feel for the special smell and feel of bread as well as the different flavors. We will also talk about "food pairing": which bread goes best with which wine, which sausage, and which cheese. With their incredible variety of flavors, bread and wine offer unimagined moments of pleasure. In Germany alone, there are more than 3,300 bread specialties made from 16 types of grain with around 500 natural aromas created by fermentation and the baking process. The perfect accompaniment is a wine from over 8000 different wines worldwide.

In total, you will have the opportunity to taste 5 Saxon wines paired with 5 types of bread, prepared with wholemeal flour made from 100% original grains, without pesticides, handmade sourdough with up to 72 hours of dough rest, baked in a stone oven.
