About Winery and Wines
Since 1110, the House of Collalto, generation after generation, has protected their hills, which over time became the noble cradle of Prosecco. The Collalto family took sage advantage of the hills’ fertility, exhibiting passionate dedication in particular for the development of the grapevines and the wine they yielded. The history of the Collaltos is impressively long, and the Castle of San Salvatore is its most glaring symbol—an imposing, hieratic fortress that has kept diligent watch over the craftsmen and people, and defended the territory, even through the most historically challenging times.
Azienda Agricola Conte Collalto is the most extensive winegrowing estate in the Prosecco Superiore DOCG, with properties lying across hills that boast a spectacular winemaking history, an area that the Collalto family has always cherished, fully respecting rigorous conduct and vineyard protection codes. An additional aspect of the family's commitment is its continual pursuit of enhancing the intrinsic qualities and full potential of its estate vineyards, as well as a wide range of winemaking experiments, such as with the introduction of Wildbacher wines by Count Antonia Rambaldo in the 18th century.
