About Winery and Wines

In the late 90s the Blasi family, who has lived and worked in Umbertide (Upper Tiber Valley) for years, bought part of the Conti Bertanzi’s mansion in order to make the most of a land endowed with precious resources. The wine cellar dates back to 1742; following a conservative and innovative refurbishment, the wine cellar is now standing as a refined place where modernity meets tradition, elegance mingles with practicality and winemaking is felt as a moral duty. In the following years, new vineyards were carefully planted; yet the traditional varieties grown in the land were kept unaltered.

During the refurbishment work, the wine cellar underwent some main transformations in the attempt to conjugate innovation and tradition and let modernity meet the charm of the oldest techniques. In the historic part of the cellar the most precious jewels are housed: ancient casks and French oak barriques where wine silently undergoes a slow maturing process. The careful search as well as the choice of the most suitable containers are fundamental to let this wine smell and taste like an unforgettable product. The vineyard surface is now covering 20 hectares where autochthonous and international varieties are planted. The vineyards look like geometric, harmonious gardens whose pattern evokes the precision of man’s daily work.
