About Winery and Wines

Our winery, X PRESE, is located in the countryside of Venice, in a delicate territory historically linked to water management. Among the early developers of the area was our ancestor, Gaetano Testa, who dedicated himself to hydraulic works in the first half of the 19th century under the Austrian government. Hence the name of the company, deriving from the "Prese," portions of land served by a single hydrolic pump. The current estate corresponds exactly to what was the tenth Presa.

Passed down to the Putti family, the farm has introduced agronomic and mechanical innovations since the early 1900s, adopting an approach focused on quality and consequently sustainability. This innovative spirit continues today thanks to Professor Mario Putti, whose research work at the University of Padua in environmental sciences keeps the company at the forefront of agronomic practices. This allows us to preserve the territory and guarantee extremely high quality in agricultural and wine production.

Today, Mario is supported by his daughters and nephews in activities related to hospitality and wine marketing, carrying on with love and dedication the teachings passed down by previous generations.

We grow and make our wines with Friularo, a historic and indigenous red grape variety of our area. Its good acidity and significant presence of tannins allow us to obtain red wines of great structure, complexity, and longevity, as well as wines that are easier and light-bodied but always characterized by great freshness, typical of the grape variety. We make wine with utmost care to ensure that the quality of the grapes is reflected in the glass and represents a distinctive feature for the consumer. Our wines stand out for their low percentage of added sulfites and our commitment to ensuring maximum naturalness through careful work in the cellar.
