About Winery and Wines

Hastwell & Lightfoot is one of McLaren Vale’s most exciting and innovative winegrowers. Since planting their 16 hectares of vines in the deep sands of McLaren Vale’s Foggo Road back in 1988, the owners have continued to push their winegrowing frontiers.

This family-owned, boutique winery is now under the guidance of second-generation family members, James Hastwell – Winemaker and Kishan Sidhu – General Manager.

The foundation of Hastwell & Lightfoot's future wines is based on the strength of their 30 years of history and experience. ‘Old world’ wines have been reinvigorated through a ‘new-world’ winemaking paradigm, youthful yet experienced winemaking with mature vines from a world-class winegrowing region.

Whilst they continue to foster traditional varieties, Hastwell & Lightfoot is at the forefront of new and emerging Mediterranean wine varieties, which they believe will be the new tradition of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu region.
