Colli Euganei Wine Route from Venice
Here is what you will live
The Colli Euganei area is an isolated range of volcanic origin which reach up to 601 m at its highest point (Monte Venda), are to be found south-west of Padua, and endow the region with a unique characteristic, containing natural, historic and artistic treasures as well as containing some of the most important culinary delights and health spas in the whole of the Veneto region.
The ancient Euganean Hills wine tradition collects each civilization and culture which contributed to define the tradition itself. This leads to a very unique taste, which describes thisland better than an history book. There is even a particular 'wine route', taking in some of the most attractive villages and towns: the Euganean Hills Wine route, covering 72 km of countryside, flavour and emotions for your Veneto wine holiday. This is exactly where we are going!
This Wine Road is immersed in the enchanting scenery of the Colli Euganei Regional Park, whose landscape is a succession of perfectly geometrical vineyards, Medieval villages and castles, Renaissance villas and patrician homes, along with churches, monasteries and hermitages still inhabited by Benedictine and Camaldolese monks.
Strolling from hill to hill, you will be warmly welcomed to farms and vineyards for pleasant wine tastings and detailed explanations of the wine- making process. A typical lunch will be held in a local restaurant. On the way back you’ll be driven by car along Brenta Canal where, starting in the 16th century, magnificent villas were built by Venetian nobility.
