Here is what's in store for you
The day begins at the Palace of Knossos, where the earliest civilization in Europe left its enduring mark. Arriving in the morning, you’ll explore the throne room, frescoes, and grand courtyards at your own pace, allowing the ancient stones to tell their stories without haste or embellishment.
From Knossos, the journey continues to a small, family-run soap workshop, where olive oil is transformed into something simple yet essential. Here, traditional methods are still followed, with soap crafted slowly by hand and infused with herbs whose scents recall the surrounding mountains. The visit offers an intimate look at a craft rooted in everyday Cretan life.
Next, you arrive at a working olive mill, where quality is judged by taste rather than technology. Walking through the groves and production areas, you’ll learn how olives are pressed and transformed into oil, before enjoying a tasting of fresh extra virgin olive oils that reflect the land, the sun, and generations of tradition.
In the early afternoon, a local winery welcomes you with the warmth characteristic of small producers. You’ll tour the vineyard and cellar, learn about indigenous Cretan grape varieties, and enjoy a guided tasting of five wines, each paired with local delicacies that highlight their character and balance.
The experience concludes in the village of Peza with a traditional Cretan lunch. The meal is served as it has always been here: generous, seasonal, and unpretentious. Local wine accompanies the dishes, and time is left for relaxed conversation or a short stroll through the village before beginning the return journey.
In the late afternoon, you are driven back to your original pick-up location, carrying with you a quiet understanding of Crete’s history, flavors, and everyday traditions.
