The winery was founded and begun operating in 1999. It is located in Northeastern Peloponnese, just a few miles further north from the city of Argos, in Panorama, within striking distance from the archaeological site of Mycenae and on the edge of Nemea’s wine-growing zone. It is strategically placed between the two large wine-growing zones of Greece, Nemea to the north and Mantineia to the west, right at the entrance of the frequently visited Argolis County with its great value for tourism purposes.

Kyriakos Koroniotis obtained a Master of Science in multi-task chemical engineering. He studied in England and in the Netherlands. He returned to Greece in 1990 where he planted the family vineyard and began producing experimental varietal wines.

Kyriakos Koroniotis combines modern, sophisticated equipment and techniques with the age-old skills of the winemaker’s art. As owner and winemaker, creates the wines to achieve an authentic Greek style with depth of fruit concentration and flavors. The wine is well balanced and has sound structure. In our winery, French and American oak barrels are used extensively for aging.  He carefully keeps the vineyards in excellent condition using his agricultural and soil-science background. Koroniotis Estate Winery has made a name for itself as a quality wine producer and the quality of the estate wines has been recognized through local and international wine competition award medals.

Because Koroniotis Winery is strategically sited between the Nemea and Mantinia viticultural zones. Moreover, the winery enjoys a unique location surrounded by the ancient excavation of Mycenae, the Argolic Gulf, and the ancient castle of Argos city (ancient Greece’s oldest city). In addition to its Estate vineyards, the winery augments its supply from other fine vineyards throughout the viticultural zones of Nemea and Mantinia.

VARIETIES

The winery consists of two vineyards; one in Mycenae, Argolis, featuring 2 hectares of Asyrtiko grapes variety since 2002, and one featuring 3 hectares, in Panorama, Argolis, in which the winery is situated, with Malvasia di Candia Aromatica grapes variety. Koroniotis winery attends to the production of wines that emphasize the terroir and the Greek genuine style, with profoundly fruity and rich flavours. Our wines present impeccable balance and exceptional structure. As a rule, the aging process involves the usage of French oak trees. Special attention is given to the quality and maintenance of the vineyards, whether those privately owned or those owned by contractual viticulturists from the zones of Nemea, Mantineia and Aigialia.  The winery boasts a cellar and a degustation hall, both open to visitors on a daily basis.
