Our winemaking philosophy is to produce wines with identity and a sense of place. Our centennial vineyards contribute to unique wines with great complexity. The vineyards are a family-owned secular property for over 250 years. Our great-grandfather produced fortified wines since the 19th century. The current 7th and 8th generation family members remain committed to maintaining the secular property, its history, and culture while safeguarding the sustainability of the ecosystem and preserving this legacy for future generations.
The 140 hectares of Quinta da Vineadouro's land are completely shaped by the vineyards and olive trees that dominate the area. It exhibits unique qualities, has a very peculiar and distinctive local identity in the Douro Superior, and has a rich history, a long tradition, and a variety of natural and cultural resources that together make a great setting for the celebration of wine culture.
Our premium and exclusive wines are made using minimal intervention, sustainable viticulture and farming practices, spontaneous yeasts, natural fermentation, and a minimum amount of oenological additives. The style of our wines is based on the recovery of old aromas and flavors of Douro Superior. There are more than 22 grape varieties in a typical Douro field blend.
