Educational Vineyard at Monterinaldi
Here is what you will live
Most wine lovers have taken part in cellar tours and wine tastings, but how many have had the chance to
spend a few hours in the vineyard with an agronomist learning how the perfect grape is cultivated? Well, the
Educational Vineyard program is your chance to do just that.
Our guests will be treated to the tutelage of our experts, while a whole section of our vineyards will be at their disposal for a hands-on experience in viticulture. The topics we will address are: how vines are trained and why we choose a particular method; effects of different soil compositions; forces of exposure and climate; importance of non-irrigation (...yes, non-irrigation); various pruning systems and defoliation; the correct timing of all processes. Those lucky enough to be present at harvest time will even get to participate in grape picking.
There is no need for any form of expertise: all are welcome to participate and ask questions.
Of course after your morning in the vineyard you will have probably worked up an appetite, so it will be time to sit down to a private table in our villa for a traditional Tuscan lunch. Each course of your meal will be paired by our highly rated Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and Super Tuscan wines.
