RUEDA 

The Rueda appellation of origin was created in 1980 and is located in the north of Spain, in Castilla y León, between two important red wine appellations, Toro to the northwest and Ribera de Duero to the east. The region traditionally produces white wines with the Verdejo, Viura, Sauvignon Blanc and Palomino varieties. Rueda is located in the central area of ​​the depression formed by the Duero River.

TORO

Toro is located northwest of Madrid, in the center of Castilla y León. Our vineyards, located on a plateau, are between 600 and 750 meters above sea level. That is an essential factor for the quality of production of these vineyards. This area registers a high thermal amplitude between day and night, which gives the grapes the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The sweetness is due to the long hours of exposure to the sun and the acidity is due to the cool night temperatures. During the day, the temperature frequently reaches 36 °C and drops to 15 °C at night. The proximity of the Douro also plays an important role in terms of the production quality of these vineyards, as it provides them with beneficial humidity, reflects the sun's rays and creates a microclimate. Under these climatic conditions, the grapes ripen very late, with very slow growth. Toro's Tinta vineyards are not usually harvested before mid-October.
