About Winery and Wines

Podere Casa al Vento is a family run farm immersed in the green Tuscan countryside, between the hills of the Val di Chiana and the Val d'Orcia, so it is far from state and provincial highways and consequently from polluting sources and has an extension of 19 hectares including six vineyards, three hectares of woods and one olive groves. The decision to plant six hectares of vines, was crucial because then determined times and procedures for the development of the farm that took its name from the village where the farm insist. In 2003 (the vineyards were planted in 2001 and 2014) the farm was founded with the owner Sonia Buracchi, manages a wine that begins with the cultivation of wine and olive oil up the commercial of the bottles wine. From 2014, Paolo and Giulia, Sonia's child, work together in the family activity and the quantity of wine vinified and bottled, before 2014, were around few thousand bootles but now the farm has a production of 17000 bottles for year. The company philosophy is "love, traditions and work keep our family together".

In 2021 we decided to convert the farm to organic from a conventional cultivation, from June 2024 we will be officially organic. In the vineyard, even before the decision to go organic, we decided to use sexual confusion and this led to a clear reduction in treatments with copper and sulfur.

Our cellar is small but sufficient and organized to accommodate part of our grapes. The cellar is divided into two parts: vinification in steel barrels and aging in oak barrels.

The cultivated varieties are Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon as we prefer to make 100% wines.
The wines we produce are:
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva
