Domaine de Saumarez is a small high quality organic vineyard in the south of France, located 15 minutes to the west of Montpellier. The vineyard was created in 2004 by Liz and Robin Williamson, a British and New-Zealand couple.

We have been certified organic since 2011. The dry and windy Mediterranean climate means that treatments can be kept to a minimum, no herbicides are used in the vineyard.  We allow the natural flora to grow in alternate vine rows in order to help promote a rich and diverse ecosystem. Wild fennel, mint and thyme are a few of the many plants that can be found in and around our vineyards.

Our wines are made from the classic red varieties of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and the white varieties Marsanne, Roussanne, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc. We love to experiment so we have also planted Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Assyrtiko and Fiano. A rosé extra brut made from the traditional method completes our range. We make limited quantities of each wine to focus on quality and letting our unique terroir express itself in each bottle.
