Marchesi Alfieri is an historic winery located in the San Martino Alfieri castle in the hills between Asti and Alba. Emanuela, Antonella and Giovanna San Martino di San Germano have been running the business since 1983, with Mario Olivero as head winemaker and director since 1999. The estate’s twenty-one hectares of vineyards produce 100,000 bottles a year. The castle and estate have always been linked with a family history. In the Middle Ages, the castle belonged to the Solaro family, a Guelphic family of merchants and bankers. Since 1616 the Alfieri, a noble family from Asti, have resided there and cultivated the land and the vineyards.

Twenty-one hectares of vineyards in the lovely hills between Asti and Alba. Our mission is to produce structured, complex and elegant wines that express all the personality and character of the grapes cultivated in this area.
