Nice experience
The wine tasting was a small intimate experience with one of the brothers, Rafael. he reached out to us the day before our original tour & asked to reschedule to Saturday. Having only limited time in the Douro valley, we changed our schedule & other tours to accommodate him so that we would not lose out on the experience. Since we changed it to Saturday night, I felt like he really did not want to be there. It was clear he did not have any other tours scheduled. It was only us. I felt like we were rushed and he just wasn’t into it. It was very matter of fact. We travel to different wine countries every year, Spain, Greece, Italy, always shipping 12+ wines back. I was interested in purchasing wines and going over more wines, but he was not. Sadly we did not make a purchase. Instead, we visited another vineyard on our way out the following day. Had a great experience and made our purchase there..

J'avais réservé pour 4 personnes pour la dégustation de 3 vins de qualité. À ma grande surprise, nous étions seulement nous 4 avec Rafael qui nous a accueilli chaleureusement. J'ai fait quelques vignobles et celui-ci est mon préféré par sa simplicité, son authenticité, sa beauté et ses délicieux vins. Rafael nous a fait découvrir une belle façon d'apprécier et de déguster le vin avec des accompagnements parfaits. Il sait transmettre sa passion et son histoire familiale est d'autant plus intéressante.
Je recommande vivement Mãos E Irmãos, car vous serez transporter dans le temps de part l'endroit, l'histoire et toute la beauté de la Vallée du Douro. Merci à Rafael, c'est un réel coup de cœur ❤️
Ne vous attendez pas à un endroit du genre grand bâtiment et grand espace! Ici, nous sommes dans la Vallée du Douro, espace restreint avec ces routes sinueuses, mais tout en beauté, tellement! Une expérience chaleureuse et unique comme nulle part ailleurs! N'ayez pas d'attente, laissez-vous surprendre; vous serez charmé en toute simplicité et ça goûte bon!

Wine Tasting
We met Rafael and his team at the location. Rafael took time to give us the history of the Qunita and his family. He took us into the house. We tasted five wines, three white and two red. We also had bread, jam, olive oil, cheese, and some meat to go with the wines. Rafael is very knowledgeable about the wines and the area. We had a great conversation and history lesson. My wife and I have done wine tastings around the world, yet this one is in our top 5 experiences. Rafael shared so many fine points with us.
This is for sure a wine tasting not to miss. We expect to back in the area in 2026 and will for sure do another tasting with Rafael and his team.

Amazing time!
Beautiful area. Owner was very personable and took his time to give you an immersive experience. Food and wine pairing was incredible. We had bread with jam and cheese for our first pairing, bread and olive oil as second pairing, and homemade chorizo as the last.

Lorsque nous somme arrivés on croyait s’être trompé d’endroit car ça semblait à l’abandon mais nous avons été accueillis par la cuisinière et nous avons été agréablement surprise par l’endroit c’était magnifique et tout était d’origine. Nous avions l’impression d’être vraiment dans leur maison et les gens étaient super gentils. Il y a aussi une piscine et des animaux derrière pour les enfants c’est super! Ils ont aussi été super ouvert à nos enfants. (2 ans et 6 mois) j’y retournerais n’importe quand! Nous avons adoré!

Un bel pomeriggio in campagna
Un posto molto carino, il proprietario simpatico. Il cibo e il vino molto buono. Abbiamo chiacchierata amichevolmente e imparato anche delle cose nuove sul vino. Bella esperienza!

Wonderful Visit
We stayed here on an overnight visit to Douro. The rooms were small, but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was ample, with lots of pastries, fruit, hot foods, etc. The onsite wine-tasting cost a small amount, but it's worth doing to try their wine and port.

From the moment you arrive it is clear that this is no ordinary wine-tasting tour. Rafael welcomes you to the family home with open arms and a smile. He takes you for a brief stroll around the vineyards and gives both a history of the company and some great insights into the growing and production processes. At no point does it feel like scripted patter, and his passion is evident.
Then back into the family home, where you are provided with great food and a fun tasting experience which feels like you're with a close personal friend.
Rafael offers great insights into food and wine pairings and isn't at all technical or condescending. You'll come away feeling like you'll always be welcome back, and there is no hard-sell of the produce. The wines themselves are of really high quality, and have been added my import list!..
The tastings at other quintas felt more sterile in comparison.

Great wine tasting
We had a wonderful time with Raffaela at his vineyard. We were shown around the vineyard, learnt about the different ways the vines are grown and a bit about wine in the Douro region.
The tasting was brilliant - we tasted 4 different wines and there was great bread, cheese and olive oil - grown at the vineyard - to go with it.
A fabulous first experience of Douro - I would definitely go back!

Rafe is such a good host!! The wines are some of the best we have ever had. The bites are delicious and are authentic to Portugal. Loved every minute, will definitely be back for the summer!

Sobre la bodega y los vinos
A mediados de la década de 1950, António Ribeiro y su esposa Maria do Céu iniciaron su andadura agrícola con la adquisición de la Quinta de S. Tiago, con una casa solariega del siglo XVIII, en Vila Marim, y la Quinta da Portela en Barqueiros, ambas situadas en el municipio de Mesão Frio, cerca del primer hito pombalino de la Región Demarcada del Duero. En 1980, su hija Teresinha Ribeiro, junto con su marido Eduardo Miranda, iniciaron el proceso de reconversión de los viñedos. Al principio, la estrategia de la familia consistía en vender su producción a los exportadores y reservar pequeñas cantidades para el consumo local.
Sus hijos -Roberto, Ricardo, Rafael y Rudolfo- se implicaron más tarde, completando cada uno una formación académica centrada principalmente en la gestión y la viticultura, dando forma gradualmente a la dedicación continuada de la familia a la tierra y sus vinos.
Mãos e Irmãos produce vinos que reflejan el rico patrimonio y el terruño único de la región del Duero. Su enfoque combina métodos tradicionales de vinificación con técnicas modernas de viticultura, con el objetivo de elaborar vinos de alta calidad que capten la esencia de la tierra. Los viñedos de la familia, situados en la prestigiosa Región Demarcada del Duero, gozan de una posición privilegiada cerca del hito histórico pombalino de la región. Cada vino producido por Mãos e Irmãos muestra la dedicación de la familia Ribeiro, con un fuerte enfoque en la autenticidad y la expresión natural de las variedades de uva autóctonas del Duero.
