From Florence to Siena visiting 3 wineries
Here is what you will live
If you're checking out in Florence and are going towards Siena or Viceversa, this it the best tour aimed at making your transfer funny and informative. Indeed you'll visit 3 wineries on the road and discover the differences among the areas of Florence and Siena and, most important, you'll discover 3 special producers.
The first one is Torraccia Di Presura for a special wine trekking experience. With this trekking experience you'll be greeted at the winery and then have a little trekking tour including the vineyard visit the cellar wine tour and then the taste of 3 different wines paired with bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil and breadboard of Tuscan cold cuts and cheeses.
The wine trekking starts from the old farmhouse Villa Ulivello. We pass through olive groves and vineyards of various periods, including a historic olive grove, one of the few olive groves in the Chianti area whose plants have survived the 1985 ice that has destroyed much of the olive trees in this land, and an old vineyard with vines supported by a living support - married vines - ancient practice of raising vines in use until in the middle of the last century!
Passing through more recent vineyards with different varieties of grapes, trained with Guyot, double arch and spurred cordon method, you arrive at the panoramic terrace that looks over the vineyards near Torraccia di Presura farm, where you'll visit the winery. From here you go back through an alternative route that laps woods and olive groves up to the panoramic viewpoint of Villa Ulivello, from which you can overlook the valley. The tour takes about 2 hours including the final tasting. It's necessary to be equipped with closed-toe sports shoes.
After the tour you'll move to Poggio ai Mandorli. The company was founded in 1934 by Orlando Trambusti, an expert wine lover who decided to parlay his natural avocation into work. In 1982 his son Giovanni took the reins of Chianti Trambusti and continued following the guidelines set down by his enterprising father - selecting with care and skill the best wines in Tuscany, to be bottled and delivered to loyal consumers in Italy and abroad. With this wine tasting experience you'll have the opportunity to visit the vineyards and the cellar to discover the vinification process. After the visit, you'll enjoy a tasting in the showroom with the guide of an expert sommelier who will teach you how to examine the main sensorial characteristics. You will taste three different wines with local foods.
Last but not least, the final winery of the tour will be Palagio di Panzano, with a tour that is designed to offer you a deeper understanding of the organic production of wine and oil, the natural processes of winemaking as well as the culture and traditions of Panzano and the surroundings. After the tour of the vineyards and the winery, we conclude with the tasting of the wines and olive oil of Il Palagio di Panzano.
