The 6-night NW Explorer introduces you to Washington and Oregon and the Northwest lifestyle while offering two unique train rides. Enjoy the rugged Mountain views and Bavarian charms of Leavenworth. Take a journey to the rolling hills of Eastern Washington and Wine Country. World class wine awaits as you travel the pioneer trail to “Washington’s friendliest town,” Walla Walla. In Oregon, the historic Western town of Pendleton is your gateway to the Volcanoes and Waterfalls of Columbia River Gorge. Portland Oregon, “the City of Roses,” has a style all its own.

Day 1: Seattle, WA to Leavenworth, WA (Scenic Train): Meet your InquisiTours Tour Director at Seattle King
Street Station in the afternoon (3:30 pm) to board the Amtrak Empire Builder. As you leave Seattle, sit back and
enjoy the views of Puget Sound, the Cascade Mountains, and Wenatchee National Forest before evening arrival in
the Bavarian mountain town of Leavenworth. Meals Included: Dinner aboard the Train

Day 2: Leavenworth, WA: Enjoy a morning walk exploring the charming Bavarian town of Leavenworth, the outlying river valley, and nearby trails. The rest of the day is yours to do what you please. In the evening, join us for a festive reception featuring authentic cuisine and ale. Meals Included: Breakfast, Reception

Day 3: Leavenworth, WA to Walla Walla, WA: This morning board your coach to explore the dramatic Columbia River Basin. Orchards and vineyards complete the expansive views as we travel into the heart of the wine country. You’ll enjoy a delightful lunch at one of the Red Mountain AVA great wineries. After a scenic drive to Walla Walla, our day will finish with a brief walking tour of the town before checking in to the hotel for the night. The evening is yours to explore the many dining options in town. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Walla Walla: In the morning learn about the lifestyles, traditions, and crafts of the regions residents including Native Americans, the Lewis and Clark expedition, and Oregon Trail Pioneers with a visit to the Ft. Walla Walla Museum. The rest of the day is yours to do what you please. You can choose from an optional excursion or may decide to spend your day exploring, shopping, or visiting the numerous tasting rooms and art galleries in town. Whatever you do, you will want to be back in time for a special dinner. Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5: Walla Walla, WA to Portland, OR: This morning we will meander country roads and farmlands before heading
to Pendleton Oregon, home of the world-famous Round-Up and Woolen Mill. From there, we will make our way back to
Portland along the scenic Columbia River Gorge with a few stops before checking in to the hotel in the early evening.
Dinner is on your own and in Portland that means anything from food trucks to fine dining. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 6: Portland, OR: After breakfast, join us for a walking tour of Portland, the City of Roses. The rest of the day is
yours. You can choose from an optional tour, or you may decide to spend your day at Powell’s Book Store, exploring
various neighborhoods while riding the MAX train, visiting the numerous museums or breweries in town, tax-free sales
shopping, or a combination of all! However you spend your day, we hope you will find time to join us for a reception in
the early evening. Meals Included: Breakfast, Reception

Day 7: Portland, OR to Seattle, WA (Scenic Train): In the morning, we will board the Amtrak for our trip back to
Seattle. In the shadow of volcanoes, we take in the sights of Western Washington before we meet up again with the
Puget Sound. We pass through several towns such as Centralia, Olympia, and Tacoma before arriving in Seattle
King Street Station in the early afternoon. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch aboard the Train
