Here is what's in store for you
This private full-day 4x4 adventure explores the wild landscapes of South Crete, combining off-road driving, wine tasting, beaches, and local gastronomy. The day begins with a morning pick-up from Heraklion and nearby areas in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle with an experienced local guide.
You travel through the Asterousia Mountains, following off-road dirt tracks and stopping at a secluded panoramic viewpoint overlooking the southern Cretan countryside. The route offers dramatic landscapes and a glimpse of untouched Crete.
The journey continues to the Messara Valley, where you visit a traditional family-run winery. The experience includes a vineyard and cellar tour and a guided tasting of five Cretan wines, showcasing indigenous grape varieties and local winemaking traditions.
Depending on interest, the tour may include a stop at the historic Monastery of Odigitria, one of Crete’s oldest monastic sites, set in a peaceful mountain landscape.
In the afternoon, you reach Matala Beach, famous for its rock-cut caves and hippie history. Here, you have free time to swim, explore the caves, or walk through the village.
Lunch is served at a seaside taverna in Matala, featuring authentic Cretan dishes, fresh local ingredients, and homemade raki, enjoyed in a relaxed coastal setting.
The day ends with a scenic return drive through traditional villages and olive groves, with drop-off at your accommodation in the early evening.

This tour involves some off-road driving and uneven terrain at certain stops. It is not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the jeep safari and rugged landscapes.

Participants should be comfortable with short walks on rocky or sandy surfaces (e.g., Matala caves, winery visit).
Not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with back or neck problems, as the off-road sections may be bumpy.
Not suitable for travelers with serious heart conditions or other medical concerns that may be affected by rough terrain.
Infant seats are available upon request. Please mention them at the time of booking.
Vegetarian and gluten-free meal options are available upon request.

To stay hydrated during the adventure, bring along your reusable water bottle.
Motion sickness pills (if needed) – some parts of the drive include winding mountain roads.
