Mas Frigoulet
(Cantina in Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrenees)

At just 23 years old, we decided in 2018 to take over our grandfather's vineyard in the town of Puech, near Lac du Salagou. A Mas made from local red stones stands in the middle of the vineyards. Around them, thyme or frigoule in Occitan grows in abundance, Mas Frigoulet was born. Mas Frigoulet is exclusively made up of old vines grown on terraces. This architecture, typical of the foothills of Larzac, excludes the use of mechanization and has reinforced our desire to adopt a sustainable method of cultivation. Throughout the seasons, the work is carried out by hand, allowing us to harvest beautiful bunches during the harvest and preserve the fruit until vatting. We practice traditional vinification for our red wine and light cold pressing for our white and rosé. Located at the foothills of Larzac, this unique terroir is characterized by its red soils rich in iron oxide called “ruffes”. It offers remarkable geological diversity and a climate conducive to the cultivation of vines.

An old written parment dating back since 416 AD, describes the existence of a beautiful gallo-romaine villa. It was destroyed during the French Revolution ; then the current Chateau Auzias was build early 19th century under the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire. Since 1872 Léon and Emile Auzias developed an important wine sales distribution from the Languedoc to the East of France, and created the brand name and labels still used today by the estate. In 1926, Eugène Auzias as a visionary, was the first winemaker to plant Atlantic grape varieties in Languedoc (Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon).  Today AOP Cabardès appellation, includes by law a minimum of 40% of Atlantic grapes in blends. For now more than 20 years, this family estate is running by Dominique Auzias. Dominique is the famous founder of the Petit Futé Guides, the worldwide leader of travel books. Chateau Mansenoble
(Cantina in Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrenees)

THE CHATEAU AND CELLARS built in 1881 by wine-makers - Huc family who known at Moux from the early 17th century. THE TERROIR placed at the foot of mountain Alaric with clay-chalk slopes lightened by alluvial gravels from Quaternary period. Its North exposition between dry Mediterranean climate and damper Atlantic air provides longer ripening period which is essential for the finesse and aromatic complexity. THE VINEYARDS 6,5HA of 30 years old Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that do not form Corbières AOP allows to produce “Domaine” IGP wines. 16,5HA of 30-60 years old Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre form the backbone of Corbières AOP wines. All of them are only manual cut and picked up. Mansenoble avoids even small fertilizing considering that natural life of the grapes gives complexity to the wine. THE WINE-MAKING with picking up at optimal ripeness, lengthy traditional fermentation, manual “pigeage” allows extracting finest constituents of grapes. Slow maceration gives character and structure to the wines.
