La visita a la bodega Perez pascuas...

6/5/16

Cantina e Vini

Mauro Pérez was born among the vines of Pedrosa de Duero, a farmer full of wisdom and love for his land, he planted and tilled the vineyards which today are the source of wines with unique characteristics: “CEPA GAVILÁN”, “VIÑA PEDROSA”, “FINCA LA NAVILLA” and “PEREZ PASCUAS”- GRAN SELECCIÓN. Pedrosa and Pérez Pascuas are the most commonly mentioned “P words” in conversations about wine from the Castilian region of Spain. The quiet Pedrosa de Duero has become synonymous with Pérez Pascuas, the surnames of the town’s most cherished sons: Benjamin, Manuel and Adolfo. These brothers have inherited a sense of brotherhood with the land that gives them grapes, the fruit of years of hard work. The Pérez Pascuas family maintains a daily relationship, motivated by love, with its vineyars. The result is one of the best wines made in the region of Ribera del Duero. The Bodega vinifies its own grapes from 135 hectares of vineyards. A great number of vines are over twenty-five years old and grow on privileged soils. The main grape variety is Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are located in Pedrosa de Duero in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, a town with a winemaking tradition that spans over a hundred years. The terrain is smooth and the soils are chalky-clay. It is located at an altitude of 800m above sea level. The climate is Continental, with an Atlantic influence and an average year-round temperature of 11ºC, with an annual rainfall of about 475mm.
