This young winery is on a 4,000 m2 estate located at the heart of the Rioja Sonsierra district. It boasts modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology, without forgetting traditional Rioja winemaking methods. We have a processing capacity of one million kilos, with small tanks to ensure full control over fermentation, including electronic temperature controls. The barrel ageing hall holds 2200 French and American oak barrels, rotated at a rate of 15% to 20% a year to ensure that they are never more than 5 years old.

Every year, Solabal processes an average of 700,000 kg of grapes from its 120 hectares of estate-owned vineyards. This allows us to fully cover our wine production while ensuring consistency and continuity in the quality of our wines.

One of the treasures of the winery is its vineyards, mainly planted with Tempranillo. There are 120 hectares of vineyards spread over about 300 plots —all in the municipality of Abalos. This provides an idea of their small size. They are mostly planted on slopes and terraces with relatively poor soils.
To maintain the quality and character of our wines, we keep our old, low-production vines, with an average age of 20 years.

In addition, Solabal has another 20 hectares of land planted with local grape varieties, including Garnacha, Graciano and Viura (a white grape, used only in our Muñarrate Blanco), which give each wine a distinctive personality.
