Bodegas Tintoralba is a wine cooperative which is jointly owned by approximately 225 members. As a cooperative, we pool together our resources to both improve quality and technical expertise, so as to elaborate exceptional wine. Bodegas Tintoralba has constantly invested in the supervision and counseling of our associates in order to create consistency and quality. Therefore, the secret behind our wine lies in the perfect combination of the best growing techniques and our painstaking production. Today, Bodegas Tintoralba brings together a vast team of resourceful and hard working associates whose vineyards are distributed primarily in Garnacha Tintorera and Syrah. What makes Bodegas Tintoralba unique is that our members are more than associates. They are farmers, cousins, neighbors, shopkeepers, friends, and beyond all else, artists for elaborating outstanding wine. Over the years, as a community, we have built up over 1,500 hectares of our own vineyards, an exceptional achievement due to both our size and quality. Coupled with the outstanding leadership of our winemaker,Pedro Sarrión Martínez, we produce wines that reflect not only the character of the terroir, but of our emblematic indigenous grape, Garnacha Tintorera. Bodegas Tintoralba is located in the northwest corner of the Spanish wine region, DO Almansa, one of nine wine regions in political region of La Mancha. Our winery is housed in a small picturesque town called, Higueruela, proudly sitting between 900 and 1,100 meters above sea level. The result of our unique position is that we are profoundly affected by the harsh, dry continental climate, provoking extreme temperatures during both the summer and winter; which consequently, favors a long luxurious ripening season.
