The Winery Bodegas Vega de Yuco is a young enterprise established in 1997. Our aim is to obtain a high quality product as a result of the combination of traditional methods and newest technologies. The winery Bodegas Vega de Yuco is family owned and is located on the island of Lanzarote in the village Masdache nestled in the heart of the vineyards of La Geria, a wide area of viniculture. The vineyards in La Geria are the product of the farmers` efforts to adapt to this subtropical climate and the very adverse environmental conditions, the strong winds and low rainfall. Thanks to the persistent and consistent work of the vine-growers it has been possible to successfully integrate into the landscape and to find land for cultivation. In La Geria, a single and unique landscape in the world, formed by the volcanic origin of the island, a special form of dry-land farming is operated. The vineyards with its semi-circular stone walls and the black volcanic soil dominate the landscape of Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands. We have succeeded in obtaining refined and well-balanced white wines from the great production of Malvasía grape variety: round and complex young wines with marked personality. We also produce delicious sweet wines. Our small production allows us to lavish attention on giving a strong personality to our wines. Our winery wants to elaborate a small number of products. The main advantage of a limited production is the focus on an intensive specialization in the product`s transformation. The result is a high quality wine. Furthermore, our winery is certified with the 14001 ISO Certificate, which reveals the ecological processes and our respect for the environment, as well as our waste management and the use of alternative energies.
