Bodegas Vizar is located on a farm on the banks of the Douro River in the town of Villabañez (Valladolid), 22 kilometers from the capital. It has 90 hectares of land where the winery and vineyard is full. The vineyards of the estate have witnessed various civilizations that inhabited Spain. The farm was part historically of today vanished village of Peñalba . The town emerged during the Reconquest on the south bank of the River Douro, opposite Christian lands slope. The farm has come to belong to the Dukes of Alba , subsequently passed through several hands over the centuries until now belong to the Zarzuela family . The family, betting on the area and its rural environment, and believe in the possibilities of the estate and vineyards, the wine market provides some wines of quality .
