Two Grand Cru Classé Estates, One Family Passion
Located in the heart of the legendary Margaux appellation, Château Boyd-Cantenac and Château Pouget are two historic Grand Cru Classé estates that have been nurtured by the same family for generations.
A Story of Heritage and Excellence
Château Pouget’s roots date back to the 16th century, while Château Boyd-Cantenac was established in the 18th century. Both were recognized as Grand Cru Classés in 1855, a testimony to the consistent quality of their wines and their deep connection to the Margaux terroir.
For over four generations, our family has been devoted to crafting wines that reflect not only the richness of the soil, but also the soul of Margaux. We combine traditional savoir-faire with a modern, sustainable approach to viticulture.
Meet the People Behind the Wines
At the heart of our estates is a small and passionate team, working closely from vine to bottle. From vineyard management to winemaking and hospitality, each member of our team shares the same dedication: producing elegant, expressive wines that speak of their origin.
Our cellars may not be the most ostentatious, but they carry the quiet confidence of centuries of know-how — and the pride of a family that lives and breathes wine every day.
Passion in Every Bottle
What drives us is more than tradition — it’s a genuine love for what we do. From pruning the vines in winter to blending the final cuvée, we are personally involved in every step. Sharing this passion with visitors is one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
I Vini
Our Wines – The Elegance of Margaux in Every Glass
At Château Boyd-Cantenac and Château Pouget, we are proud to produce two Grand Cru Classé wines that embody the finesse, balance, and depth for which the Margaux appellation is renowned.
Crafted with Care, Aged with Patience
Our wines are made with grapes grown exclusively on our own vineyards, carefully selected and hand-harvested to preserve their integrity. The winemaking takes place in our traditional cellars, where we blend modern precision with centuries-old expertise.
Aging occurs in French oak barrels, with a significant portion of new oak each year to support the wine’s complexity and structure. We allow each vintage to evolve at its own pace, so that the final wine is both age-worthy and enjoyable in its youth.
The Grapes – Classic Bordeaux Varieties
We cultivate the traditional grape varieties of the Left Bank:
Cabernet Sauvignon – The backbone of our wines, bringing structure, depth, and aging potential
Merlot – Adds roundness, fruitiness, and elegance
Cabernet Franc – Contributes floral notes and complexity
Petit Verdot – A touch of spice and color in select vintages
Each variety plays a role in the final blend, allowing us to create wines that are expressive and harmonious, vintage after vintage.
Two Estates, Two Styles :
Château Boyd-Cantenac is known for its elegance, aromatic purity, and refined tannins. It is a wine of great precision and longevity, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts.
Château Pouget expresses a slightly more generous, supple profile, with round tannins and floral aromas — a wine that showcases the charm and balance of Margaux.
