Podere Baratta
Cantina e Vini
Podere Baratta covers an extension of 12 hectares next to the hill of Conzano, popularly known as Monte della Baratta, on top of which stands the “Cipresso di Francesca” sung by Giosuè Carducci in the famous ode. This enchanting hill, located in the heart of Bertinoro, rooted on the Tuscan-Romagnola Apennine ridge and standing like a natural terrace on the Adriatic Sea, facilitates an excellent ventilation and the maintenance of a microclimate particularly suitable for viticulture thanks to its location.
The Satta family has been passionately developing its own company for years, constantly striving to improve and diversify its production, using modern technologies respecting the typicalness and the wine tradition of Bertinoro.
In 1960 the Satta family moved from Sardinia to Romagna by purchasing the fund in Monte Baratta in Collinello near to Bertinoro. In 1997 the major part of the company area was destined to vineyards,
We manly produce wines from Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Albana and Trebbiano. The exposure of the surfaces dedicated to vine (about 6 hectares) is to the south, the form of breeding is in part with simple curtain (for the red berry variety) in part espalier with spurred cordon (for the white grape variety) . The medium-textured soil, mainly clayey, facilitates the low production in favor of a high quality and health of the grapes.
