We only had a chance to go...

4/20/16
We only had a chance to go to the restaurant for wine tasting and pizza. The wine tasted very cheap (we like sweet, and it was nasty) and the experience of the tasting was just for the waitress/waiter to pour a little into a glass and wait for you to try and then the next. To me it felt more like a bar then a winery. There seemed to be many signs on the property for more things to do at this winery though so maybe there is more excitement in other parts of the winery. The pizza we had was pretty decent.

My wife and I just got home...

7/21/14
My wife and I just got home from a weekend getaway from Rustle Hill. We enjoyed our stay in their large cabin. We liked the food, sangria and wine. The summer festival bands on Sunday were Great. The girls taking orders and serving worked very hard and were Great, and the kitchen people were very quick to get the food out.
Thanks to all who worked this busy weekend. We appreciate the hard work and will be staying again.

Cantina e Vini

Chambourcin is one of the premier grapes in southern Illinois. A hybrid that was originally developed in the Loire valley of France, it made its way to the cooler climate areas of North America, and the wine growing region of the Shawnee Hills. The premier Rustle Hill Chambourcin is a robust dry wine, offering expressive aromas, with thick skins, high tannins and good acidity. The Rustle Hill Chambourcin has a faint hint of oak, currant and blackberry flavors and a smoky character. It’s got a long finish of toast and coffee. The Rustle Hill Rose is a white Chambourcin, semi-Dry wine, with crisp cherry and strawberry flavors. We spent 6 months looking for a good sweet red wine, and we found it in the Chambourcin grape! The Rustle Hill Sweet Chambourcin tastes of cherry, plum and raspberry, and finishes smooth and soft. Dessert Chambourcin is the Rustle Hill dessert wine. It has been aged in old oak barrels for five years, and has subtle flavors of chocolate and dark berry fruit. It finishes with a strong orange and spice nose.
