Self Winedering tour of Valpolicella

We do love Valpolicella, we can't hide that. Being close to Veneto, we often visit local wineries, always trying to find the best jewel for our wine travelers. However, like many other Italian wine regions, there's always an incredible variety of wineries that can be visited, but the question is: how can you choose the right one for you? This is why this tour offers you the opportunity to combine 2 different wineries in one day for a special Wine Day Tour of Valpolicella.

The first appointment is at Farina Wines at 11.45 am. Your journey will begin in the vineyard, in the fascinating setting of Valpolicella Classica. You will explore the traditional practice of grapes drying in fruit cellars and then you'll be able to admire the art of making wine in the cellar and the wisdom of its aging in barrels, barriques, and the new suggestive concrete amphorae.

At the end of the tour, you'll enjoy the tasting of 6 labels combined with a light lunch featuring cold cuts, a cheese board, bread or focaccia, giardiniera, a typical Veronese dessert, coffee, and grappa.

By 3 pm you'll reach the second location for your final visit of the day at La Dama Winery; here you will start the experience by walking through the vineyards surrounding the winery. While walking on the grass among the rows you will talk about the traditions of viticulture in Valpolicella Classica, rooted in the territory for centuries. Moreover, you'll learn about biodiversity and respect for the environment and for man, values in which La Dama believes and for which they chose, some years ago, to convert their entire production to certified organic. You will then head towards the fruit cellar, following the path the grapes take during the harvest. Here the grapes destined for Recioto and Amarone dry for the whole winter. Finally, you will head downstairs and talk about aging and oak between casks. You will end with the tasting of the five classic wines of Valpolicella matched with typical local products such as Monte Veronese DOP in different ages, local salami, and, to conclude, some dark chocolate.

By the end of the day, you'll have tasted 10 glasses of wine and discovered the world of Valpolicella!
