Truffle Hunting & Wine Tasting at Tenuta Torciano

Do you want to try at least once in your life the excitement of participating in the truffle hunt with beautiful Italian truffle hunting dogs? Accompanied by a professional guide with his dogs, every day, for an hour, you can have a wonderful experience in hunting for truffles at Tenuta Torciano and surrounding oak forests. In the private truffle land on property you will find precious white and black truffles. Learn to identify the different species of trees and the ideal habitat for the growth of truffles.

Tuscany is a dream all year round, however, the region particularly thrives in Autumn. Known officially as the fall harvest, almost every town in the region celebrates the ripening of their grapes and a multitude of other agricultural delicacies. The food events, all centralized around the gift of harvest are too numerous to count!

Of course, a day well spent at our winery would not be complete without tasting Tuscany’s premier wines. More than ten selections of Torciano’s critically acclaimed wines will be available for you to try. Indulge yourself in wines that made Tuscany famous, ranging from Vernaccia of San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino (the two most prestigious and famous wines from the region) to hand selected private reserves and Super Tuscans.

Upon your arrival, with an English speaking translator, you will receive a lesson on how to recognize, hunt and find black and white truffles. Then you will begin an hour hunt with a professional guide that will teach you the technical information about the truffles themselves. The knowledge you will walk away with is priceless.

After the hunt, you will arrive back at the winery for a special lunch consisting of the truffles you have found! Your lunch will begin with charcuterie, pecorino cheeses and bruschetta. The main course will be Italian pasta fresh from our bottega followed by roasted meat, potato & vegetables. During this time you will receive a special wine tasting consisting of Brunello di Montalcino, Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva, Merlo Baldassarre, Syrah Cavaliere, Vernaccia and more before finishing with our dessert wine and cantuccini.

You may also have the opportunity to purchase the truffles found during the excursion at fair market prices as they are property of Tenuta Torciano.
