Bersi Serlini FranciacortaBersi Serlini Domaine finds its origin in the MiddleAge; in the related Abbazia di San Pietro in Lamosa, the Cluny Monks built the originary construction of our wine cellar: a dependence with farming and wine producing purpose. Big walls, made with field stones, with amazing barrel, groined and ribbed vaults. After 700 years of Cluny Monks, the property became private and in 1886 it was acquired by Bersi Serlini Family; it has been expanded in the second half of ‘900 from the grandpa, the Lawyer Piero Bersi Serlini and then restored under the visionary guide of the son Arturo. Arturo was the person who produced in 1970 the very first bottle of Brut in Franciacorta. Today Franciacorta still is property of Bersi Serlini Family. Arturo is the President of the Maison and with the daughters Chiara and Maddalena Bersi Serlini, follows with passion the bubbles production and the winery communication and public image.

Terramica Al RocolWe have always had the passion for the viticulture. From the beginning of the 20th century, the property administration, where worked four share-farmer families, was divided in two parts: one to Miss Gina Castellini and the other one to her brother Isacco. From 1968 all the responsibility about the administration of the farm fell on her till 1992 when her son, Giovanni Vimercati, decided to dedicate full-time to his big passion: the viticulture. Our property stretches over 34 hectares and our vineyards over 9 hectares. Our wine cultivation is made following the most current viticulture instructions and the “ Consorzio Vini Franciacorta”, in which our farmhouse is a member.

Castello di LuzzanoThe property currently extends over 110 hectares of which 70 are under vine. Some comes under the Oltrepò Pavese denomination and some Colli Piacentini. The vineyards are planted at altitudes of 180-270 metres around the two clusters of estate buildings, giving a 360° view onto their perfect geometrical patterns of horizontal and vertical lines. Although the two estates lie close together there are differences in the soils. Luzzano has mostly schistous marls and calcareous marls from the Pliocene era with an underlying stratum of tufaceous rock. This combination results in elegant yet well-structured red wines known to age well. The soils at Romito, which is famous for its Malvasia di Candia Aromatica grape, are instead formed of deep sands, lime and ironrich clays that give rise to perfumed wines of great finesse. The classic Guyot training system is used at both, with a planting density of 3500-4800 vines/hectare and a yield of 80-90 quintals/hectare (equivalent to approximately 55-65 Hl/Ha).

Contadi CastaldiAn extraordinary universe of vines gave rise to the territory of Franciacorta. In the variety of its landscapes we discovered a wide range of expression, a richness of nuances, that made the creation of a new winemaking dream a real possibility. These are the origins of Contadi Castaldi, the most highly specialized company in the art of innovation, which searched the Franciacorta region to find the most evocative vineyards and the most passionate winegrowers. After all, no two winegrowers are the same, and each of them practices and excels in different passions. The name is a synthesis of the ancient history of Franciacorta, its 19 municipalities and their vocation for outstanding agriculture. In 1500, when the Venetian Republic was at the height of its splendour, Franciacorta produced food and wine destined for the tables of princes, kings and rich merchants. For Franciacorta, the beautiful city of Venice was the market of choice for introducing its wines. One of the many quarries in the area gave rise to the Biasca brickyard, the old building that houses the Contadi Castaldi winery today. When the Franciacorta region was at the peak of its development in the 1980’s, Vittorio and Mariella Moretti decided to convert the brickyard into a winery. Its large spaces and long tunnels where the bricks were fired proved to be the perfect place for ageing Franciacorta vintages and welcoming wine lovers.

AZIENDA AGRICOLA LA BASIALA BASIA is a small farm on the morainic hills of Valtènesi region, on the south-eastern shore of Lake Garda, approx. 40 km far from Brescia (Lombardia). Vine growing and high-quality wine production have been the core activities since 1975; from 2001 we also run an agriturismo, with holiday apartments and horse stables. After years of activity, the farm is still basically a family-run operation, which the owner Elena Parona manages with the help of her husband Antonio and two of their kids, Giacomo and Irene. The process of increasing production and the constant care given to improve the quality of our wines, led La Basa, although small, to be awarded in many national and international competitions, and be recognized in important Italian and international guides and reviews. The philosophy of La Basia's activities can be summarized in two concepts: quality and a respect for the environment. The wines of La Basia originate from ongoing research aimed to enhancing local heritage in order to offer a very typical and unique product, strongly connected to the local varietals, tradition and terroir. This special regard for the preservation of natural heritage and integrity of the landscape motivates us to cultivate our fields and vineyards using sustainable techinques, with a minimum impact on the environment. Since 2012 we also joined the Ita.Ca. project, to control and manage the carbon print of our whole operations.

Azienda Agricola Fratelli Berlucchi SrlBerlucchi is the pioneering winery of Franciacorta wine. They were the first to create a sparkling wine in the area, transforming a thousand-year-old local wine heritage into a world-class wine destination. Nestled in the foothills of Alps, is the wine area of Franciacorta. It is here, that in 1955 Berlucchi paved the first stones to transforming a local wine heritage into the seat of Italy’s finest sparkling wines, that are beloved the world over. The story begins with Guido Berlucchi and Franco Ziliani. The former was a descendent of the noble Lana de’ Terza family and the latter a young enologist from the Alba Wine School who had developed a reputation for consulting important wineries. Guido sought Franco’s advice for what he thought was a singular issue – how to stabilize his white “Pinot del Castello” wine – and instead, found a partner with whom to change history. Franco recognized something that Guido, for all his passion for winemaking, missed: the incredible potential of his family’s estate to make sparkling wine that could compete with the likes of Cham-pagne. The 17th-century underground cellar maintained the right environment for riddling, and the mineral-rich moraine soils were perfect for growing pinot varieties. Franco’s vision and Guido’s passion were just the right pairing needed to embark on this pioneering path. The two founded Berlucchi winery in 1955 and released their first limited-production of 3000 bottles of Pinot di Franciacorta in 1961 to great success. This pivotal year continues to be commemorated by the winery’s ’61 label. The first 1961 bottle is displayed in the cavernous underground cellar, where thousands of visitors are greeted each year for tours and tastings.
