D'Ambra Vini D'Ischia SrlThe geographical isolation contributes to the unique climate, historical and cultural characteristics that any island develops. Winemaking in Ischia is not only a source of income but it also helps to protect the environment and to preserve ethnical and cultural traditions. The difficulties Ischia winemakers have to face are related not only with the territory but also with the historical, geographical and socio-economical restraints. All this results in very high production costs: for these reasons Ischia's winema- kers have been called 'crazy angels' by the specialized press. Two great personalities made a major contribution to the creation of our winery's label: the French champagne producer monsieur Chandon, and the movie director Luchino Visconti. Monsieur Chandon, who Mario D'Ambra had met by chance in a café in Naples, contributed to the format by granting the Ischia winemaker permis- sion to use the champagne template. As for Visconti, he gave suggestions as to the layout and content: "...it has to be straightforward: your house, Ischia's sky and sea, and the wording have to stand out ..." And actually the company logo, based on a lithograph by Aniellantonio Mascolo, an Ischia-born artist, represents some key elements, namely huge chestnut containers filled with grapes in the foreground, a palm tree, and the old Villa Garavini, the company's first cellar, in the background.

Casa SetaroThe cellar is located under the family house, in perfect temperature and humidity conditions. During the harvest, grapes are gathered here from the vineyards located within the Vesuvius National Park for the pressing and vinification. Before destemming and soft-pressing there is a further phase of grape selection. casa setaro, cantina, don vincenzo For white wine, there is a maceration at low temperature in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of circa 4°C for 48-72 hours (24 for our rosé wine), followed by drawing off and soft pressing, clarification of the must and fermentation at a controlled temperature of circa 10-12°C. For red wines, after destemming and pressing the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of circa 15°C until fermentation is completed. Soft pressing follows. In a more secluded part of the cellar, there is an area where our red wines, after vinification, rest in wood barrels of different capacity and types of wood. In particular, the Lacryma Christi Riserva Don Vincenzo rests in barrels for 14months before being refined in bottle. The Lacryma Christi Rosso and the Aglianico Tauro have a shorter passage in barrel. In another part of the cellar a wine tasting area has been designed so that wine lovers and winte tourists can enjoy tasting Casa Setaro‘s wines.

The careful selection of the grapes’ origin, the important investments in machinery and leading edge technology, industry expertise and the passion and dedication have contributed to the creation of a product of the highest quality that can transmit not only the taste of a great wine but also the emotions and feelings of the homeland, much praised since Roman times. The uniqueness of the product is linked to a wise combination of tradition and innovation, as the perfume of the Gulf of Naples, the particular minerality of the soil made pleasant by volcanic eruptions and the historicity of vines already cultivated by the ancient Romans are interwoven processes in continuous evolution, made possible by the latest generation of winery.

Cantina del Vesuvio Azienda Vinicola di Russo MaurizioIn 1948, just as Italy was recovering from World War II, Giovanni Russo founded his small family winery on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vesuvius. At the time, wine was trasported to Naples by horse-drawn wagon, where small, rural vintners sold their wines to larger merchants, who then supplied shops and restaurants around the city. Giovanni's son, Maurizio, began working at a young age in the family business, starting out as a humble field hand. After years of working in the winery, Maurizio decided to make a change: 18 years ago he opened his doors for visits and tastings, invested in improving the quality of the wines, and limited distribution exclusively to the winery shop.

The Varchetta family has been making wine for over a hundred years and has always placed attention to the territory at the base of their work without ever losing sight how important pleasure is. In was in 1892 when Vincenzo Varchetta decided to strengthen his wine making activity. He was convinced that the time was right to transform the pleasure of producing wine into a thriving business. A decisive contribution was made by his son Giovanni, who , after returning home from the Second World War, managed to concretely transform his father’s dreams into reality. "Don Giovanni", expert in every aspect of Campania vineyards, instilled in his children and grandchildren all his passion and expertise that he had accumulated over the years. With a history expanding over four generations, the family founded the Astroni Winery in 1999, engaging in a project to protect and enhance Campania ampelography and offering an oenology of strong traditions enriched by modern cultivation and vinification techniques.

Tenuta delle GinestreL’azienda agricola “Giacomo Ascione” nasce dalla passione e dall’amore per la vigna ed i suoi frutti della famiglia Ascione, originaria di Trecase, piccolo comune del vesuviano particolarmente vocato alla coltivazione della vite e terra di produzione del Lacryma Christi. Un legame con i vigneti di famiglia tramandato nel tempo e coltivato nel solco di una tradizione contadina di almeno quattro generazioni. Curando in prima persona la produzione delle uve Giacomo, Pina e i tre figli Carlo, Roberto e Chiara si assicurano della qualità delle materie prime e ricercano costantemente l’eccellenza del prodotto finito a partire da una viticoltura praticata secondo i metodi tradizionali e una vinificazione all’avanguardia condotta con pratiche leali e non invasive. Nel tempo, ispirati dall’atmosfera meravigliosa e coinvolgente che caratterizza il lavoro in vigna e in cantina, i tre giovani figli intuiscono l’importanza di continuare ed espandere l’attività che è cultura familiare conferendole dignità imprenditoriale, con lo scopo di non abbandonare un’arte tipica del territorio di origine e valorizzarla al massimo, condividendo il sogno e l’obiettivo di riportare il vino del Vesuvio alla fama leggendaria e ai riconoscimenti che lo hanno caratterizzato storicamente.

Bosco de' Medici WineryBosco de' Medici è un'azienda che da anni si occupa di incoming, in un contesto, quello di Pompei, ad alta vocazione turistica. Di Bosco de' Medici fanno parte un Resort 18 camere con piscina e una piccola fattoria degli animali; un Hotel al centro di Pompei; una scuola di equitazione e ovviamente, la Winery (con ristorante per degustazioni ed eventi). L'azienda agricola è attiva dal 1996, prima come conferitrice di uve per le grandi realtà vitivinicole della Campania, poi, dal 2014, con una produzione propria, di circa 20.000 bottiglie annue. L'ambizioso progetto enologico è affidato a Vincenzo Mercurio. Attualmente produciamo 4 referenze: 2 Vesuvio Doc Lacryma Christi (Bianco e Rosso) e 2 Pompeiano IGT (Bianco e Rosso). Bosco de' Medici includes a Resort with 18 rooms, swimming pool and a petting zoo; a Hotel in the city center of Pompeii; a Horse Riding School and, finally, the Winery (with a restaurant for events and wine tastings). The farm has been active since 1996, first as a grape producer for the great wineries in Campania region, then, since 2014, with its own production of about 20,000 bottles per year. Cenatiempo Vini D'Ischia Di C.P. &Co SasThis was the idea behind the establishment of Cenatiempo Vini d’Ischia in the first half of the twentieth century. Our family-run business has never forgotten its debt to history, as symbolized by our wine cellar dating back to the 1600s, a marvellous structure carved into the hillside of Kalimera. To represent our territory at its finest, the company has set up an extensive and multifaceted structure. Alongside the fascinating and passionate first-hand management of the vineyards, we also oversee the winemaking process, from the harvest to bottling and delivery to customers, with a HoReCa channel handled by an outside company. Furthermore, we intervene as little as possible on the must, relying on controlled temperatures for fermentation and mechanical filtration, and using only trace amounts of sulphites. We choose collaborators and sales partners who share these principles.

Azienda Agricola ' La Pietra Di Tommasone'La Pietra Di Tommasone is a product of passion and care, but above all, an old family tradition. More than hundred years ago, antgrandfather Pietro Monti, and then Tommaso Monti gave life to a story that continues today with La Pietra Di Tommasone of Antonio Monti. At Ischia grandfather Tommaso Monti, called “Tommasone” during the Sixties produces wine for his family. The wine, bottled in small quantity, and commercializted on the local market at Ischia. However in 1980 when Tommasone dies, the family tradition is interrupted, because Tommaso’s son Antonio moves to Germany. He follows his passion, catering. On March 19th 1982 Antonio marries Birgit Monti, a german girl. The couple get two daughters Lucia and Barbara. In 1987 Antonio’s biggest dream comes truth. He opens his own Restaurant at Cologne with a lot of success. With a lot of passion, care and work also today he looks for his Restaurant. The other passion is the wine. The memories of the wine and his father’s teachings let him coming often to Italy, back to his beloved Ischia. One day coming back to Ischia he has the great idea about starting from his origins again and reviving his own traditions. At the end of the 90th Antonio decides to start his new adventure, the viticulture the old tradition of the island of Ischia, one of the oldest wine-growing regions of Italy. In 1999 are planted the first young vines of the typical campanian and ischitanian grape varieties. In 2004 La Pietra Di Tommasone is born. The name of the winery is dedicated to the father Tommasone and to the old cellar made in a rock. With the harvest 2004 begins the production of the first 30000 bottles of wine. At the same time the daughter Lucia studies in Germany for becoming a winemaker. In this occasion she makes a lot of practical experiences in German and Italian wineries. The family tradition will continue. On February 21st 2009 Lucia moves to Ischia for continuing the work, which her father began.

Azienda Agricola FuocomuortoL'azienda agricola FUOCOMUORTO è ubicata in Ercolano,provincia di Napoli, nella contrada Croce dei Monti, che si arrampica sulle pendici del Vesuvio, ad una altezza di 350/400 metri sul livello del mare, in pieno Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio. E’ destinato alla viticoltura un ettaro e mezzo di terreno che si dipana su terrazzamenti che consentono un’esposizione al sole praticamente costante nell’arco della giornata. Si trova quindi in media collina caratterizzata dal clima mite, ben ventilato. La trasformazione riguarda solo le uve di produzione aziendale ed avviene in idonei locali, mentre la conservazione e la maturazione del vino in bottiglia avviene in una grotta naturale, ricavata sotto una lastra di roccia vulcanica a 4/5 metri di profondità, dove temperatura ed umidità sono quasi costanti nell’arco dell’anno, COSTRUITA NEL 1780. The farm FUOCOMUORTO is located in Ercolano, province of Naples, in the district Croce dei Monti, which climbs on the slopes of Vesuvius, at a height of 350/400 meters above sea level, in the middle of the Vesuvius National Park. One and a half hectares of land is used for viticulture, which unfolds on terraces that allow practically constant sun exposure throughout the day. It is therefore on average hill characterized by the mild, well-ventilated climate. The transformation concerns only the grapes produced by the company and takes place in suitable premises, while the conservation and aging of bottled wine takes place in a natural cave, obtained under a slab of volcanic rock at 4/5 meters of depth, where temperature and humidity they are almost constant throughout the year, BUILT IN 1780.
