Camel ValleyWhen ex-RAF pilot Bob Lindo and his wife Annie planted their first eight thousand vines in 1989, they never dreamed of the phenomenal success they would achieve within 2 decades. They had bought their farm in the heart of the Cornish countryside several years earlier, seeking a change from service life and the perfect place to bring up their young family, and initially farmed sheep and cattle. Each summer they watched the grass turn brown on the sun-drenched slopes of the Camel Valley, and wondered if vines might enjoy such an aspect. Bob ‘did a vintage' in Germany and both took viticulture courses and read every vine and wine book they could find. They built a winery and equipped it with the finest equipment they could afford. Annie is the first to admit the early years weren't easy: ‘We practically lived in the vineyard, doing all the work by hand, and when it came to harvest time it was just us and a few friends for picking, then Bob would stay up all night crushing the grapes. But we loved it, always striving for perfection in the vineyard and the winery, and then we won a medal in the national English Wine competition for our first wine, so we knew we were doing something right.'

Biddenden VineyardsHere at Biddenden Vineyards, Kent’s original commercial vineyard, we pride ourselves on being a family run vineyard with the second and third generation of the Barnes family managing the estate. Originally home to a 40 acre apple orchard, the Barnes family started to consider diversifying the farm in the late 1960s as apple prices began to decline. After listening to a feature on the BBC’s Woman’s Hour programme about English vineyards being replanted, Mrs. Barnes was inspired to turn to viticulture. In 1969, one third of an acre of vines was planted and Biddenden Vineyards was born.

Dedham Vale Vineyard

Godstone VineyardsThe light morning mists of late summer and early autumn, combined with the relatively cool microclimate which exists at the foot of the gently sloping North Downs Way, allows our grapes to develop wonderful aromas which are part of the unique personality and “terroir” of Godstone Wine. The Deeley family first planted vines at Godstone in 1985 and enjoyed their first vintage in 1988. The vineyard is set in fifty acres of glorious countryside and the vines are grown on a gentle south-facing slope with free-draining Upper Greensand soil. Three varieties of grapes are grown: Seyval Blanc, Dornfelder, and Bacchus, to produce White, Rosé and Sparkling Wine.

Barnsole VineyardBarnsole is a boutique vineyard, a winery, and two passionate wine makers who strive to produce premium quality English wines. Our vineyard is located in the picturesque country village of Staple, situated between the historic city of Canterbury and the delightful cinque-port town of Sandwich. This is fertile land that has been farmed since ancient times. The (loam over chalk) soil regularly offers-up relics such as Napoleonic buttons, musket balls and the odd clay pipe that was discarded by a farm hand, long, long ago. Barnsole’s situation delivers the perfect geology and climate to produce the high quality grapes that make our award winning English wines. We diligently nurture our vines throughout the growing season, listening carefully to what the vineyard tells us. Only when we have heard its whisper can we harness the goodness of each wondrous season. We sell sparkling and still wines directly to the public from the winery door.

The Mount VineyardThe Mount Vineyard is situated in the idyllic village of Shoreham in Kent and produces award-winning still and sparkling wines. English wine making history dates back to the Roman times when they used to grow grapes in our area. The sunny microclimate of our chalk-stream valley is conducive to excellence in grapes.

Ridgeview Wine EstateRidgeview was founded in 1994 by Mike and Chris Roberts and is dedicated to creating world class sparkling wines in the South Downs of England. Our vineyards specialise in growing classic grape varieties to make the highest quality bottle fermented sparkling wines. The world class status of our wines is reflected by the number of national & international medals and trophies we have received since the release of our first wines from the 1996 vintage. The second generation of the family have now become established in key roles within Ridgeview, enabling the continued expansion of the business. Our dedication, passion and determination have significantly contributed to the international reputation and popularity now attributed to English Sparkling Wine. This passion and determination is shared by a great team of dedicated staff who are fundamental to the continuing success of Ridgeview.

Broadfield Court EstateBroadfield Court is set amongst a 1000 acre farming estate in the heart of Herefordshire. Along with the Cafe, Vineyard and Gardens, we also farm a dairy heard of approximately 300 cattle and grow a variety of cereals. Under Mark’s and Alex’s ownership, Broadfield Court has acquired a reputation as a top class venue ideally equipped for weddings, corporate events, private and public functions, outdoor activities and sporting and cultural entertainment. With one of the UK’s most mature vineyards, we are home to wines which are available for tasting and sale in our shop or by mail order. The Broadfield Court team is committed to providing the very best service to ensure that no visitor leaves without wanting to return.

Hambledon Vineyard

Lovells Vineyard - Elgar WinesNestled at the foot of the inspirational Malvern Hills, in the village of Welland in Malvern, Lovells Vineyard is a family run English vineyard established in 2010. The Lovells is a 13 acre site with gardens and vineyard and is open to the public for tours from May until November.

Huxbear VineyardHuxbear vineyard is situated in the Teign Valley (near Chudleigh) in South East Devon, tucked in between Dartmoor National Park and the English Channel. The site was carefully selected (from a list of dozens) and benefits from south and south west facing slopes and silt loam soils with silt stone, limestone and granite beneath. The vineyards are planted in two fields: South Field: South facing, with 4000 French Pinot Noir vines (used in our still Pinot Noir) and 4000 Chardonnay vines (used in our still Chardonnay). We have since planed 1300 Chardonnay vines and 200 Pinot Noir vines in South field in 2013 and have now run out of space. West Field: South west facing, with 2000 Chardonnay vines (used in our still Chardonnay), 1000 each of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (which will be used for rosé), 1500 Bacchus vines, 750 Schonberger and 750 Siegerrebe (which, astonishingly enough, are German and are used for the Corbinian).

White Castle VineyardWe are very passionate about what we do here at White Castle Vineyard and are always striving to be as good as we possibly can be. We feel very privileged to have a vineyard here in Abergavenny. White Castle Vineyard is a small Welsh vineyard situated near the market towns of Abergavenny and Monmouth it is owned and run by Robb and Nicola Merchant. Having purchased the 12 acre small holding in 1995 they converted the milking parlour into their home a year later, however it was 2008 before the dream of owning a vineyard become a reality, the 5 acre gently sloping, south facing field was purchased, soil tests were performed and vines ordered. May 2009 saw the planting of 4000 vines, the varieties of vines planted were Pinot Noir, Regent, Rondo, Seyval Blanc & Phoenix, now there was no turning back, May 2010 saw a further planting of 800 vines this variety being Siegerrebe. Robb & Nicola have attended Plumpton College East Sussex to study viticulture, this training giving them the skills needed to produce quality Welsh Wines. The Scott Henry trellising system was erected in 2010 with the help of family members. The first harvest taking place through October 2011.
