Tradition, experience... passion for quality Our production philosophy is based on these words. Azienda Agricola Calatroni was founded in 1964, when Luigi Calatroni, driven by the end of his sharecropping contract, decided to buy the vineyard of his former employer. In the following years the winery expanded and developed under the guidance of Fausto and Marisa Calatroni: now in its third generation of winemakers, the winery now combines the experience of tradition with modern enological and agronomical techniques which young brothers Cristian (37 years old) and Stefano (32 years old) have brought with professionalism and passion. The continuous technical improvements and the qualitative progresses allowed the full exploitation of the grapes of the estate vineyards, located in the commune of Montecalvo Versiggia at an altitude between 180 and 320 meters above sea level, in an area particularly suited for the cultivation of different grape varieties. This is the contribution of Calatroni family to the growth of Oltrepò Pavese, a territory rich in potentialities still to be discovered.

Family Padroggi has a strong tradition in the world of winemaking in Oltrepo Pavese. Just the love for the vine and wine, transmitted from generation to generation, made possible that Enzo Padroggi, the company's founder, in 1985 would create the trademark Cà del Gè to identify a line of highly qualified products. The company is entirely family-run. His children Stephania, Sara and Carlo are continuing today Enzo and his wife Lucia's dream. Much has been done to set up a more noticeable qualitative change, both for what concerns the management of the vineyards that winemaking techniques, combining the past with the latest knowledge in the field of wine - enology. More and more attention has been given to the environment and the health of the consumer. For this reason the company for several years has joined the measure PSR 214 to have a lower environmental impact. The fertilizer and pesticide use are reduced to a minimum, the planting distances provide a greater number of plants per hectare. All this is aimed at lowering the yield per plant thus creating the best conditions to obtain grapes of the highest quality. The harvest is entirely by hand: this allows to maintain greater integrity of the grapes and to make a first selection. Then a soft pressing and temperature control of fermentation, which is essential to preserve the heritage especially aromatic white wines. For this reason, the winery is equipped with modern stainless steel tanks to ensure better hygienic conditions. The red wine vinification is made traditionally, except for some special wines that use French oak barrels.

The Giubertoni/Coppini family's adventure in the world of wine began in the late 19th century with Angelo Giubertoni, nicknamed `Il Bel Angelin`, a wine trader in the Verona area who soon moved from sales to the actual production of Lambrusco Mantovano. Six generations later, Cantine Giubertoni is still led with the same passion, love, research, and desire for innovation by Emma and Alessandro Coppini and Omero and Albertina Giubertoni. A stroll through the vineyards, contact with our beautiful land and our grapes, followed by a visit to our winery to learn about our family history. A look at the bottling plant and a glimpse of the new winemaking technologies, concluding with a tasting session of our wines and some Mantua specialties, in our brand-new dedicated tasting area.

Travaglino Wine Cellar is a magical place, full of aromas, emotions, and great narrative power. Most magical of all is the heart of Travaglino, which pulsates with bustling vitality and is brimming with ingenuity and beauty in equal measure. Come and step inside. Breathe in deeply with your nostrils and marvel at the must that changes before your eyes and the fermenting grapes. Listen to the sounds of these changes and the noises from below, wonder at the ingenuity of man, and be captivated by the tales of the men and women of Traveglino... and by the overwhelming aromas. The oldest part of the cellar dates as far back as 1111: it is so beguiling that words cannot do it justice. But you insist, asking us to open that wrought iron door adorned with arabesques, to show you the hidden corner housing some of the oldest bottles, the iconic gems of the Travaglino cellar, arranged around our Pinot Noir collection. It was Churchill who once said that "The farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see". So after delving into the twelfth century, we are ready for a leap into the future. It is now time to learn about the cellar's process of renewal, which was launched in the 1980's. It was a studied work of conservation that succeeded in preserving the cellar's charm, while bringing out its functional characteristics, transforming it into the perfect setting for the maturation of prestigious classic method sparkling wines, obtained from Pinot Noir grapes.

Torti Winery is situated amongst the Oltrepò Pavese hills, historical area of wines and vineyards: a hilly terroir of lime, marl and clay with an ideal climate for grape cultivation, blessed with ascending Ligurian breezes, ventilated, cool summers, harsh and dry winters, with embracing mists from the Padanian Plain. The main town is Pavia, a charming city of history and arte. A population of friendly, hardworking, genuine people. A fertile area of culture and passion. Here grapes have been cultivated for more than 30.000 years. Strabone (60 BC – 20 AC) wrote that the abundances of wine in the Oltrepò was witnessed by wooden barrels, bigger than houses. During the middle ages, castles were built in the area and the quality of the wine started to become more and more appreciated. The Oltrepò Pavese (The Old Piedmont) is smothered in vineyards, furrowed with streams and rivlets, where villages, churches and hamlets appear amongst the hills displaying a dancing array of colours, geographical features comparable only to those of Champagne and Burgundy. 45° Parallel ‘half way between the North Pole and the Equator’ as professed along the roads leading to the scenic hills. Here the harvest lasts longer than any other area of Italy, beginning with Pinot Nero for sparkling, then the red grapes such as Barbera and Croatina (the grapes used for the popular Bonarda). Pinot Nero, which is used for sparkling and also to produce important red wines for aging, plays the leading role.
