Enjoyed the chocolate and wine tasting last year. This year the wine isn't as citrusy as last, unfortunately. Good location tho, friendly folks.

Have been a fan for years. Ben is a master. Great atmosphere and staff; and a dog area!

The tasting room welcomes you and has always been a relaxing environment. Granted, dogs are allowed, but dog owners often mind their dogs if they act up a bit. The wine is wonderful and hasn't disappointed me once. The staff are very accommodating and the views from the back patio are very calming. Inside, during the winter, there is a full on fire place which confirms the relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend at least a visit, but I'm fairly confident you'll want to come back.

We went over 4th of July weekend - it was busy but not packed. We brought along our black lab and the staff and people visiting the winery were so accommodating. They made sure my husband and I and our dog were comfortable. Our dog had the best time and the wines were fantastic too!

My (new) husband and I got married here last Saturday. It was gorgeous. Being January, we got married indoors, but were able to take advantage of the beautiful scenery with a few photos in the vineyard. We had our ceremony by the fireplace, and then the reception was in the beautiful event space in the next room. The room is beautiful, with gorgeous chandeliers, but with rustic tones, including a breathtaking cork wall. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Our 85 guests all commented it was one of the nicest, most intimate and most personal weddings they've ever attended. We are so thankful to the 8 Chains staff for making our wedding a day we'll never forget.

About Winery and Wines

Ben Renshaw is, at his core, a vineyard guy. He manages a total of about 85 acres for a number of wineries in Loudoun County, including his own vineyards: Furnace Mountain, Waterford—the site of 8 Chains North—and a newly acquired property in Purcellville. Ben’s tireless work in the vineyard makes the critical difference in the cellar, where his style can best be described as hands-off. Most importantly, Ben has established 8 Chains North Winery to embody the true spirit of a boutique Virginia farm winery. We own it, plant it, grow it, make it, and sell it. His commitment to viticulture is renowned in the region, and we are proud to play a vital part in the Virginia—and especially the Loudoun County—wine community.
