Lovely atmosphere and aroma coming from the kitchen amazing setting with views would recommend the lamb belly the jus was to die for. The creme caramel was outstanding the smooth texture and consistency was impeccable. The pinotage red wine that accompanied the lamb belly was a very good pick. staff where well trained and the maitre'd ran service to a high standard.

Oh my God! Such a great experience. I have already rate this restaurant in TripAdvisor. We came back just for our wedding anniversary and it was stunning. Food was unbelievable , always fresh and tasty which is super hard to find in nz. Staff is also very attentive and helpful. Thanks for the flowers on the table that was the cherry on top of the cake.

About Winery and Wines

Takatu Vineyard lies on what was once an ancient Kauri forest. It has a clay soil and relies on the sub tropical rain fall to irrigate the vines. Each year the variation of rain and sun beating down on the slope of the vineyard determines its own vintage. The vineyard is relatively small but has a charm of its own, growing five different varieties of grape. The main focus is on getting quality production over quantity. To achieve this, most of the work is done by hand using local people and some backpackers from overseas at peak time. Each drop of wine has taken sunshine, rain and nutrients from the earth, sweat and patience of the human hand and time and testing with our wine maker to bring you the final product.
