It is so much more than a...

It is so much more than a beautiful winery, I was given a tour of the bridal suite, the Enchanted Forest, pool, vineyards and met many of the wonderful staff at Avio. They have a wonderful setting for events, not just for weddings but there are several areas of unique charm that would be perfect for parties, anniversaries, corporate retreats, really anything special. The fountains, gardens and wines are lovely as are the views. Oh, and another big plus: it's easy to find and the signs are very good. If you haven't gone, please do go to Avio and if you like smooth wines, like I do, the Pino Grigio is really excellent!

Avio Vineyards is a destination that embodies the spirit of northern Italy. Our Amador County wine estate is reminiscent of a traditional Tuscan farmstead, complete with a rustic courtyard and fountain. Our goal is to make wine in the traditional Italian style. We do not create aggressive, overpowering wines, but rather varietals that are smooth, well balanced, and compliment any dish. When I reflect on the true essence of wine, I believe that wine is meant to be enjoyed with friends and family. This is what our wine embodies; tradition, pride, and family. Great wines are first made in the vineyard. We use old world processes which were passed down from generation to generation, and we do everything by hand. We farm to low yields and allow the grapes to show their unique character by doing as little as possible to hinder their way into becoming smooth, full-bodied varietals. This love of the land, and the fruit, allows us to produce some of the finest Amador County wines you'll encounter.
