After touring over 40 wineries in Texas, too many to count in California, (lived there for 9 years)and dozens across Europe, Barking Rocks is one of the best with the most wonderful true wines I've ever tasted! Not only will you enjoy great wine and atmosphere, the owners are friendly, happy, gracious; I now call friends. Its the best for fun events and tastings, makes one feel right at home in a relaxing, unique setting.
I love this place and go often; one reason I can, I live in Granbury.

Beautiful building and good wine. A friend had taken me to see the winery and Tiberius took the time to take me on a tour of the winery. Great place!

The winery is lovely. Nice setting, nice old building for the tasting room and events, picnic tables out back and the staff is friendly. We really liked some of the wines and between the three of us bought six bottles. So why the three star rating. Well, when all was said and done we felt kind of ripped off.

The tasting is $6 for 5 tastings of wine. That's okay, even reasonable. What is not okay is pouring LESS THAN 1/2 oz. Seriously, there was not even enough for one good quaff. And the staff is very consistent in the amount they pour, which once again, is measely. So, after pouring this scant amount the least they can do is credit your $6 on your purchase of a bottle. Well, they don't do that either.

So, we had a nice visit , we bought some delicious wines but left with a sour taste in our mouth.

About Winery and Wines

Nestled just around the corner from downtown Granbury, Barking Rocks winery provides a casual, quaint, experience making wine friends and events happen. Our wines are created “hands on” featuring the varietal characteristics of grapes grown in Texas. A native and an Italian have combined forces to provide these grapes an opportunity to achieve their highest calling. Friends and family lend the rest of the encouragement and help to convert clusters to bottles. Our wines are an extension of the relationship that we have with our community, our earth and our spirit. Please come by and join the cru!
