BODEGAS RIKO

Winery in Alicante

About the Winery

Bodegas Riko is the result of four generations dedicated to winemaking, with roots dating back to 1921. Nestled in the village of Xaló, in the northern part of Alicante, our winery sits in the heart of a small valley that time has barely touched. Our philosophy is simple yet profound: we strive to create honest wines with soul, where the integrity of the grape variety is paramount. Our wines aim to capture the subtlety and character of the land that has sustained our family for generations.

The heart of our project lies in our vineyards, covering 13 hectares of native grape varieties. These vines, with an average age of over 40 years, are cultivated in bush formations under strict dry farming conditions, allowing the land to naturally express its unique qualities. Minimal intervention in the vineyard is a core value, as we aim to preserve and enhance the land that our ancestors have nurtured. We remain dedicated to honoring their legacy by producing wines that tell the story of our family's deep connection to this land.

About the Wines

At Bodegas Riko, our winemaking process is rooted in tradition and crafted with care. Each wine is produced in an artisanal manner, with a focus on minimal intervention to allow the true expression of our terroir to shine through. We are committed to sustainability and work with nature to create wines that are fresh, elegant, and a true reflection of the land they come from.

Our wines highlight the unique characteristics of the indigenous grape varieties grown in our 40-year-old vineyards. With a focus on subtlety and balance, our wines are approachable yet complex, carrying the soul of the land in every bottle. Through our dedication to tradition, sustainability, and respect for the vineyard, Bodegas Riko produces wines that are an authentic expression of the heritage and character of our beautiful region in Alicante.

A great experience and gained new knowledge
As retired business owners it was refreshing to see hard-working brother and sister with fresh ideas carrying on a family business. It was a relaxing 2.5 hours - walking to their grape fields and listening to the history of their wine-making. Marina was open to questions and showed her expertise. After the walk and visiting their cellars, there was a generous wine-tasting experience. As we went on a Saturday, we also had a quick visit to the antique market in Jalon. A great experience all in all. Thank you

A Wonderful Wine Tasting Experience at Bodegas Riko
We had a wonderful experience at Bodegas Riko. The tour was very interesting and gave us great insights into the winery. The wines were absolutely delicious, and during the tasting we were also served some snacks that paired perfectly and were very tasty as well. Overall, we truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back again.

An excellent experience.
This is a family winery that's over 100 years old. Marina and her family offer a very professional and attractive experience, starting the tour in the vineyard, continuing through the steps of the wine production process, and finishing with a very pleasant tasting. We would do it again without a doubt.

Brilliant wine tasting day at Bodegas Riko
Had an absolutely brilliant wine tasting day at Bodegas Riko. Marina was great: she walked us to the fields, took over 30min explaining to us how the winery was founded by her family up to now, the planting and upkeep of the grape plants etc, and allowed us to walk around in the grape fields picking grapes. Then to the wine testing: we sampled 8 really nice different wines. Very generous with everything, everyone was full of praise. Highly recommended for wine tasting, you won’t be disappointed!!
