About Winery and Wines

Our estate is situated on the hills of Orvieto in the locality of ”Canale”, a well-known area among the people of Orvieto because of its fertile land used in vine growing. It covers a surface of about 70 hectares carefully cultivated as olive groves, sowable land and vineyards. Of the 37 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of vines at least half produce D.O.C. grapes used for the production of ”Orvieto Classico” wine, the rest is used to produce ”Sangiovese” and other highly prestigious non autochtonous vines such as: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc which all derive from a careful selection of clones. The winery, in 2003 it was built on a natural terrace which faces the Cliff and the Cathedral of the city of Orvieto, from where we ”borrowed” the cobbled stones and the beam structures for the roof, making a direct connection with the city. Entering our sales point you will be met with antique furniture which acts as the background to a display of our products. Going up to the floor above, in the large tasting room, there are two large terraces. One opens onto an external panorama of the area, the other opens inwards onto the productive heart of the winery. It is here that next to the computerized systems which supervise sophisticated enological equipment you will find Oak barrels for wine refining and men who process an antique product using modern methods, joining marvellous technology with tradition.
