About Winery and Wines

The winery is located one kilometer from the village of Mamoiada in an area called Bruncu Boeli, at 630 meters above sea level, immersed in the vineyard, with a southwest exposure. Only Cannonau vines are grown here, using low bush vines; the soil is composed of granite disintegration. Osvaldo inherited a small, abandoned 80-year-old vineyard in 2004, convinced that his true calling lay in the world of wine. So over the years, the winemaker has dedicated himself to reclaiming and renovating the plot, focusing his efforts on growing Cannonau.

The vines are tended using artisanal methods, respecting the principles of organic farming and using hoes to manually work the soil. In the cellar, fermentation is carried out using only indigenous yeasts, accompanied by moderate maceration on the skins. Various types of oak barrels are used for aging, and throughout the entire process, the amount of added sulfites is kept very low, while clarification and filtration are avoided.

Tastings can be held directly in the winery; in the adjacent country house, equipped for the winter with a wood-burning fireplace and heat pump; and in the warmer months, tastings can be held in a small treehouse, built by Osvaldo himself, overlooking the surrounding vineyards and hills.

The 2019 vintage marks the first official bottling, with approximately 5,000 bottles of pure Cannonau, vinified in three versions: rosé, red, and Riserva. The wines are made according to tradition, from healthy, organically grown grapes, with spontaneous fermentation and minimal added sulfites. The red wines mature in French oak barrels for a year, followed by a further 12 months in bottle. The flagship wines are the Riservas, crafted from a selection of the finest grapes at harvest time.

Our Cannonau wines are appreciated for their intensity, richness, and roundness, typical traits of Mamoiada wines. Furthermore, their freshness and well-integrated tannins allow for a certain balance, resulting in highly harmonious expressions.
