The passion for grape cultivation goes back over five generations when, in 1895, the family's great-great grandfather, Luigi Mucci obtained the Technical Oenologist Diploma. He immediately dedicated himself to the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine in the family business. Today, Aurelia and Valentino Mucci are at the head of the company and successfully continue their ancestor’s passion for oenology, with the full support of their family, and a clever young team of employees. Their father, Nicola, still represents a model for experience and ability, and above all he takes care of all the work in the vineyard. In 1982, their grandfather Valentino restarted the family business and the 1984 was the first year of bottling. Valentino is the name of the first line and is still in use now. The company logo is a knight with a lance that marks all the lines produced. This image comes from a very brave legendary Viking leader, also named "Valiant", just like the nickname that their grandfather and grandson have. In 1996, with the new generation a different corporate image was create, thanks also to the arrival, in 1999, of the consultant Oenologist Leone Cantarini, revisiting and expanding the range of wines produced. Today, the total production is around 250,000 bottles per year (variable data). Thus, the company experiences significant sales growth both in Italy and abroad. The winery owns 20 hectares and vinifies almost exclusively their own grapes. All the vineyards are situated on Torino di Sangro’s hills. Vines such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino and Falanghina are cultivated.
