About Winery and Wines

It is since about 50 years that Rudinì winery operates in the wine business. Founded by Saro Di Pietro, it is located in contrada Camporeale, in the heart of Pachino, where a team of professionals works daily combining the traditional techniques of the art of wine making to the most updated techniques of wine making. The philosophy and the memory of the founder are now accompanied by the entrepreneurial vision of his son Giuseppe and his wife Stefania, with a project which aims at the care of details and puts man at the service of nature, in order to produce wines more and more answering to the market demand and capable of telling the traditional richness of the territory.

Rudinì draws its grapes from more than 200 hectares of the most qualified vineyards around Pachino. Nero d'Avola is the autochthonous grape of this lucky production area, today protected by the Denominazione di Origine Controllata in the "Eloro Pachino" typology: the only DOC for Nero d'Avola. Recognized as the most famous Sicilian vine in the world, it is cultivated since ancient times in this small handkerchief of land between the towns of Pachino, Noto, Rosolini, Ispica. It is here, in these hills with an arid and dry climate, with high maximum and average temperatures and an exposure to light among the highest in Europe, that Nero d'Avola has always expressed the best of itself. However, besides the prince of Sicilian wines, over the years the bouquet of Rudinì winery's labels has been enriched by some grape varieties which are successfully cultivated in the vineyards of the area. Chardonnay, Inzolia, Syrah, Merlot show to have found here an optimal habitat giving life to splendid wines, among the best ones of Italy.
