About Winery and Wines

The MAS PÒLIT is very old country house, located in the village of Vilamaniscle, in the North-east of Catalonia, near of the French border and
next to the Mediterranean Sea.
MAS PÒLIT is growing 8 hectares of vineyards.
These vineyards are located on mountain slopes, where slopes are cultivated in the past, and divided into small plots, due to the rugged
geography of the property.
The vineyards grow in rocky slate soil (licorella), acid and poor, near the area of the sea, between the natural parks of the Albera and Cap de Creus.
The soil type is very suitable for producing quality grapes, growing vineyards in small strain production base and reaching grapes with high
concentrations of sugars and polyphenolic compounds.
The climate and soil gives an original and unique personality to the fruits of our vineyards.

MAS PÒLIT wine is the product of the grape these vineyards, which takes its unique character rooted in the land,
which plays a dominant role.
The philosophy of MAS POLIT wines is to make designer wines. Our wine is the result of the intellectual and sensitive man application in the vineyard and in the environment
We think that wine is not only the result of grapes fermentation, but also and especially the application of  knowledge and know how of the grower,
their sensitivity, their way of perceiving nature surroundings, their feelings toward the land to extract the best of each terroir.

The wine reflects our way of life, our land, our history and our Mediterranean culture.
In MAS POLIT wine we can find concentration, personality and harmony.
The concentration is achieved with naturally low yields, and maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.
The personality and character are given by the selection exceptional terroirs, the traditional mountain viticulture and intelligent use of indigenous varieties.
Harmony is found looking forward the balance, combining tradition (terroir, Mediterranean culture, local grape varieties, hand picking, careful work in
the cellar) and innovation (selection of clones, drip irrigation, canopy management, etc.).

The craftworks and knowledge of winemakers determines the blending, is studied separately for the marriage of the varieties to determine the
exact point of the proportions, in an effort to get homemade wines.
