Best stainless Chardonnay in the US. Fab with lobster, sea food, & pasta. Add some to your Risotto as it is close to finishing cooking.

We perpetually receive amazing reviews from our lodging and wedding guests who visit this warm and friendly tasting room. The stainless Chardonnay and their Pinots are huge favorites of both our guests and the innkeepers here! This weekend we are attending their Lobsterfest, with guests and friends joining us this time--it's a great event. Don't miss a stop at Chamisal Vineyards when you are here visiting the Central Coast.

Great place, gorgeous vineyard, beautiful and warm atmosphere. Relaxed winery experience and a fun place to go after a day at the beach with a group of friends. I think I enjoyed the simple atmosphere more than the wine. (I'm not a big drinker). I probably could have stayed on their warm and sunny patio all day. The staff is so nice and they really know their wines. I was very impressed and will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

About Winery and Wines

In 1973 Chamisal became the first winery to plant vines in Edna Valley, a gamble that paved the way for one of the most revered wine regions of California. Our Central Coast vineyard is named for the native, white-flowered Chamise plant that thrives on the property. In the early 1990’s after a period of dormancy, the vineyard was replanted and the estate was renamed Domain Alfred, but when we took ownership in 2008 we restored the original name – Chamisal Vineyard – to honor its place in Edna Valley history. Now planted to five grape varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Syrah and Pinot Gris, this exceptional estate vineyard is the centerpiece, source and inspiration of Chamisal’s bold and distinctive wines. Located half-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the Edna Valley is recognized as one of the premier Central Coast grape growing regions, renowned in particular for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Rhone grape varieties. With San Luis Obispo and the Pacific Ocean a mere few miles away, the coastal fog and breezes create one of California’s longest growing seasons, extending the time grapes hang on the vine as they develop flavor and character. This climate, combined with the calcareous and volcanic soils of the Chamisal Vineyard, results in wines with intensity, concentration and fresh, balancing acidity.
