Winery: Building sits on top of a hill giving panoramic views. The grapes are grown on property but not visible. A nice and clean facility. It was empty but it was a Tuesday afternoon. Lots of seating around the building and some shaded seats available.

Staff: the young lady that helped us was pleasant. She had very little experience opening wine. The management would be wise to teach those that open the bottles, how to open the bottles. She chipped the first bottle she attempted to open. We asked about a Viognier as it is a popular varietal in VA. She said that it was reserved for VIP members. Kind of a turn off that we weren't

The wines here are good. However, what really sets it apart is the staff. The tasting staff was phenomenal. They were very knowledgeable as well as being friendly. We wanted to spend the whole afternoon just tasting wine and visiting with the staff.

WINTER MONTHS HOURS ARE UNTIL 5:00PM. They will not serve you after 4:30 and will kick you out. Staff said they don't have parking lot lighting. We showed up at a little before 4:30 thinking they were open until 7:00. Driveway was washed out near the bottom but made it through ok. Manager comped us a few glasses of wine which was nice, considering.

The new facility is beautiful, just needs some personality and window coverings added (sun is brutal at the end of the day). Seems like it will be a nice warm weather hang out if they end up serving any type of food.

Staff still seeming to get their footing. Wine was hit or miss. Our group purchased 4 bottles and that came out to be $127. Overpriced for quality was our general consensus. There's potential, hope they work on it.

Sobre la bodega y los vinos

Located outside the village of Middleburg in the beautiful Bull Run Mountains, Chrysalis Vineyards is becoming one of the finest estate wineries on the East Coast. Having completed our 18th harvest, we have established 71 acres of vineyards, specializing in unusual Spanish and French varietals and the native Virginia grape, Norton… in addition to substantial plantings of traditional grapes. We are excited and energized as we present our wines and other artisan foods in our new Ag District Center on John Mosby Highway, just west of the Town of Aldie. We combine the best of modern techniques with the traditional hand-crafted winemaking methods of the Old World. Please take a tour of our web site to learn about Chrysalis Vineyards. Our tasting room complex welcomes all visitors with ample lawn and patio seating, and covered pavilions for educational and engaging wine tastings. Chrysalis Vineyards is creating unique wines that appeal not only to the tastes of our fellow Virginians, but to wine lovers the world over. Since the colonial days of Thomas Jefferson, Virginia has enjoyed a reputation as one of the first producers of fine wines in North America. The tradition continues at Chrysalis Vineyards as we produce premium wines of world-class standing.
