About Winery and Wines

Danza del Sol Winery’s story is deeply rooted in Temecula Valley’s wine history. Founded in 1978 by Dr. William Filsinger, our 40 acre vineyard property located on the De Portola Wine Trail, was originally planted with Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc vines in 1972. In 1980 Filsinger Vineyard and Winery opened for tasting. In the Fall of 2009, after a successful career in the software business and nine years of racing rally cars, businessman Robert Olson wanted a new challenge. After visiting different California wine regions he believed Temecula Valley was the ideal place to grow and produce quality, award winning wines. In 2010 he purchased Filsinger Vineyard & Winery and immediately began to build a strong team to support his vision of producing quality wines at affordable prices. In the first year, Danza del Sol winery produced about 3400 cases of wine. Due to the popularity and quality of the wines, friendly staff and casual tasting experience at Danza del Sol Winery, production has grown to 15,000 cases in 2015. Our hand crafted wines are sold exclusively direct to our customers – through the tasting room, our robust Wine Club and online. The vineyard is planted with the following varietals: Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Gewürztraminer, Sangiovese, Syrah, Viognier, Orange Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. There are two things that are immediately evident when you arrive at our tasting room: the rustic and authentic ambiance and our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our team prides itself on providing a first class hospitality experience for everyone who comes to see us.
