The experience at Darioush is amazing. We begin with a champagne and then sample his whites. We were then taken downstairs to one of his cellars where we were surrounded by magnums and double magnums of Lafite, Petrus, Latour . . . We then sampled Darioush Cab and Darious II next to some fantastic French wines from his private cellar. All this with some great food including caviar with the champagne.

Thank you Nina for a most insightful time and truly out most enjoyable tasting while in Napa.
We now collect and build verticals of the beautiful, and equally good tasting, Darious II in 750's and 6L (hopefully our allocation of the 6L continues so we can have an uninterrupted vertical in years to come).

I had a great experience at Darioush. Jacqueline, our pourer, was friendly and personable. It was fairly busy, but she made the experience feel like we were having our own private tasting. She knew each wine inside and out, which really helped my wife and I when making our selections. She also explained the Darioush story which drove home why they went with their current décor. We visited and tasted at several wineries in Napa, but this was by-far my favorite.

Beautiful place, really nice wine and cheese tasting. The Persian style of the place makes it very unique and interesting to see. Only downside to it is that you don't get to see the vineyard. I would recommend to go to the Robert Mondavi winery and then to this one just so you get a full package experience.

About Winery and Wines

Darioush is a story of the harmonious blending of traditions - a culture of graciousness and thoughtfulness and one rooted in the ideals of individualism and opportunity. Nowhere is the connection between wine and culture more evident than in the history of Persia. Discoveries dating to 5,000 B.C. in the Zagros Mountains of Northern Iran show that winemaking emerged as permanent communities replaced nomadic life and a new age of wine culture began. The history of wine accompanies the very concept of hospitality, inspiring art, poetry, culture, and winecraft for millennia to come. Darioush Khaledi was instilled at an early age with the winemaking craft of his father, inspired by wine culture in the literary city of Shiraz - in modern day Iran - and the ancient city of Persepolis. He became a lifelong collector, seeking out old world wines infused with tradition and energized by modern technique. Aspiring to the ideals of the American dream, Darioush immigrated to America to seek out opportunities others overlooked. He was an entrepreneur determined to realize his dream, yet always eager to share his journey through his love of wine borne of rich heritage.
