About Winery and Wines

Domaine Les Brome is Léon Courville’s dream. A wine enthusiast and lover of land and nature, this collector and former board chair of the first commercial wine website acquired a plot of land in Fulford in 1981. Beguiled by the extraordinary view from the property, he gradually acquired some of the neighbouring plots, piecing together what has become today a magnificent 350-acre estate. In 1999, drawn to the craft of viticulture, Courville planted over 4000 plants around his house. The vines grew and bore beautiful fruit that inspired him to continue, following the traditions of wine-making to create superior quality wines. The boutique opened in 2005, offering wines from the 2003 harvest that attracted and surprised wine critics. Heartened by this success, he planted other varietals and expanded the vineyard. His wife, Anne-Marie Lemire, joined him in 2005 to take charge of marketing. Domaine Les Brome now boasts over 80 000 vines of twelve different types, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Vidal, Maréchal Foch and St-Pépin. The vineyard produces white, red, rosé and ice wine, as well as a late-harvest and a champagne method wine. Since 2006, Domaine Les Brome wines have earned several awards. Mindful care allows the grapes’ inherent qualities to flourish, contributing to Courville’s great dream: producing excellent wines in Quebec.
