Just to let you know that I opened a '88 Oakville Late Harvest Riesling this evening...and it's perfect. It's just about at the end of a long and happy life, and a stunning accompaniment to a pear tart I'll serve in a few hours.
A marvelous example of an American LHR. Incredible structure and length, a finish that will soften a cigar, and a whisper of an old tawny. Oh my.

Surprising experience! We stopped by after eating...

Surprising experience! We stopped by after eating in a nearby restaurant. Had several n ice wines in the area, and saw some neat wineries. However this one was different than most. Very friendly, beautiful setting, and we loved the wines! Ended up ordering some to ship home.
