Outstanding and Elegant wines with an incredible staff

10/1/22
We went to at tastingbat Giulia Negri last week. We were met by the very handsome Stefano who helped us navigate our way through the vineyards and the cellar and finally the wines. He was so knowledgeable and answered every question we had. He was charming and kind. The wine? Elegant. Profoundly depthful and filled with the story of the terroir.. Giulia is brilliant and her wine speaks volumes to her formidable skills. Next time we want to go truffle hunting! We bought 2 delicious bottles to bring home- the Barolo Tartufaia 2018 and the Langhe Nebbiolo 2018. Run don't walk.. The staff, the wine, and the grounds are all gorgeous. We'll done!
Going in autumn was so beautiful. Next time, we might try to time with with the truffle festival.

About Winery and Wines

When Giulia Negri inherited the family business in Serradenari, with its vineyard, its cellars, its wine bottles, and its markets around the globe, her family had been producing wine for already 150 years. Giulia Negri bet everything on Barolo, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, on the highest ridge of the Land of Barolo, and on a team: Alessia, who is the pillar of the Cellar and takes care of importers, suppliers, and fairs, and Arianna, who is the soul of La Tartufaia and organizes its truffle hunts in the last white truffle wood.

Serradenari is the highest peak of the Barolo wine area, a small balcony from which the eye catches the horizon. At its feet lies the Langhe area, and straight ahead are the Alps, from Liguria to Mount Cervino, with Mount Monviso towering right in the middle of it all. This is where Giulia Negri makes her wines (less than 40.000 bottles per year), or rather, it is where Serradenari makes its wines, as she likes to say: the earth holds secrets that are unknown to Man.
